Green Hydrogen Production through Water Splitting
Green hydrogen is produced by electrochemically splitting water into hydrogen and oxygen using electricity from renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. As a carbon-free fuel, it offers a sustainable alternative to fossil fuels and plays a vital role in achieving net-zero emissions. The development of efficient, durable and low-cost electrocatalysts for the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is essential for advancing green hydrogen technologies and enabling large-scale clean energy production.

Electrocatalyst in Water Splitting
An electrocatalyst accelerates the hydrogen evolution reaction (HER) and oxygen evolution reaction (OER) by lowering the activation energy and reducing the required overpotential. This improves the efficiency, reaction rate and stability of water splitting, enabling efficient and sustainable green hydrogen production.
